Natalie Githinji Bids Farewell to NRG Radio After 5 Years.

Natalie Githinji, a renowned radio presenter, has announced her departure from NRG Radio. This marks the end of her five-year journey with the urban station. The announcement, made on her social media platforms on the evening of Saturday, October 5, adds Githinji to the growing list of popular names leaving the station in recent months.

In her heartfelt statement, Githinji expressed gratitude to her team and fans. She acknowledged the talented individuals she worked with and took pride in their accomplishments. However, Githinji emphasized that her exit was motivated by her desire to explore new opportunities and pursue fresh challenges.

“I am deeply grateful for the support of the talented team I had the pleasure of working alongside and I take immense pride in what we have achieved together,” she wrote. “My departure marks the close of a significant chapter for me and the company, but I am excited about the paths that lie ahead.”

Natalie Githinji leaves behind a notable legacy at NRG Radio. She hosted a hype-filled morning show that resonated strongly with young audiences. Her humor and wit attracted listeners across the country. Beyond radio, Githinji boasts a following of over 640,000 on Instagram. She is also an actress, red-carpet host, and an advocate for endometriosis awareness, making her a multifaceted media personality.

Another Major Exit from NRG Radio

Githinji’s departure continues a trend that has seen NRG Radio lose several top presenters. Earlier in May 2024, Shaquille O’Neill Oduk, popularly known as ShaqtheYungin, left after a six-year stint. He cited it as the hardest decision he had to make, stating, “I’m gonna miss you all on this side! God bless all who were part of the journey.”

Just two months prior, in March 2024, two other prominent presenters, Mwalimu Rachel and DJ Xclusive, parted ways with the station. The duo had been instrumental in shaping the station’s identity, hosting a high-energy show that resonated with the urban crowd. After leaving, both secured roles at Radio Africa Group, signaling new chapters in their careers.

NRG Radio has undergone several significant changes since its launch in March 2018. Within months, it became a leading station in Kenya, blending audio and video streaming for a visually engaging radio experience. However, over the past year, it has seen a wave of top talents depart.

Six months prior to ShaqtheYungin’s exit, Azeezah Hashim also left the station after two years. She joined Hot96 FM, a radio station under the Royal Media Services banner.
