The search for Willis Ayieko, the Wells Fargo Human Resource manager who went missing last Friday, has come to a tragic end. Authorities discovered his body on Wednesday, near a stream in Nyamninia sub-location within Gem Yala, Siaya County.
The HR manager was last seen on Friday, October 18, while attending a burial in North Gem, Siaya County. He was expected to travel to Kakamega County for another event but never arrived. Alarm bells rang after his vehicle, a Ford Ranger, was found abandoned in Sabatia, more than 60 kilometers from his last known location.
The real tragedy unfolded hours later when his body was discovered near the stream in Gem. Detectives noted that he was handcuffed, which strongly indicates foul play in Ayieko’s death. The body is also said to have been decomposed when it was discovered by a student, and it had bruises on the face and stomach

Investigators Follow Key Leads
Mysteriously, Ayieko’s vehicle was found abandoned in Sabatia, Vihiga County. Police say CCTV footage captured two men abandoning the pick-up near a petrol station in Sabatia.
Investigators are hoping to identify the men to provide critical information on how they obtained the vehicle.
However, the reasons behind his targeting remain unknown. Some believe his work could have played a role, though details remain scarce at this stage.
Ayieko’s death adds to a worrying trend of mysterious killings that have rocked the country in recent weeks. Just this week, the mutilated body of Dela Ward MCA, Yussuf Hussein Ahmed, was discovered in Lake Yahud two weeks after he was abducted. Similarly, a family in Eastleigh is mourning the brutal murders of three family members, whose bodies were found in separate locations within Nairobi.
The Law Society of Kenya condemned these killings, labeling them as severe violations of human rights.
