Veteran radio presenter Alex Mwakideu took to social media to challenge Kenyans to produce evidence that he received payment to promote the Indian conglomerate Adani Group. This statement follows allegations from JKIA-Adani whistleblower Nelson Amenya, who claims Mwakideu is involved in a marketing scheme to sanitize Adani’s image in Kenya.
Mwakideu Denies Allegations of Payment by Adani Group
Mwakideu addressed the accusations directly, urging his followers to investigate his social media posts and broadcasts on Radio 47. He emphasized his willingness to reward Ksh1 million to anyone who can substantiate Amenya’s claims. “Check all my social media pages and listen to Radio 47. If you find any evidence of me defending Adani, I will give you Ksh1 million cash. Take your time,” Mwakideu declared.

He firmly stated that he has never accepted money from Adani and expressed his intent to reject any association with the firm. “All those Adani rumors are false. I have not been paid by Adani, nor do I want to be,” he said.
Amenya’s Accusations Spark Public Outrage

Nelson Amenya has persistently accused Mwakideu and other top influencers of accepting payments from a marketing company to promote Adani. According to Amenya, the goal is to influence public perception positively. He claimed, “If you hear him trying to defend Adani, just know he’s in on the deal.”
Amenya also suggested he would reveal more details about the marketing strategies employed to change perceptions about Adani in Kenya.
Details of the Alleged Marketing Strategy

In a recent post, Amenya shared information about alleged leaked emails from a marketing company’s CEO. These emails purportedly outline a strategy for portraying Adani in a favorable light over the next three months. Amenya hinted that there are four upcoming Adani projects in Kenya, including one at Mombasa port.
He also claimed that the company had plans for a documentary about Adani, which faced interference from state authorities. “I learned they sent a journalist to India for a documentary on Adani, but statehouse stopped it,” he wrote.

As of now, the marketing firm at the center of these allegations has not responded to the claims made by Amenya. The situation has stirred interest on social media, with many Kenyans discussing the implications of these accusations.
