Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i is making bold moves to secure his place in Kenya’s highest office come 2027. He has enlisted the services of renowned Canadian lobbying firm, Dickens & Madson, to bolster his presidential ambitions.
On July 29, 2024, Matiang’i signed an agreement with the lobbying powerhouse. According to documents reviewed by City Digest, Matiang’i has already made an initial payment of $65,000 (Ksh.8.4 million). He will also pay a substantial retainer fee of $250,000 (Ksh.32.3 million).
The deal outlines that Dickens & Madson will provide critical media and public relations support. This includes lobbying the executive and legislative branches of the US government to rally international backing for Matiang’i’s presidential campaign.
Lobbying Firm’s Role in Shaping Fred Matiang’i’s Campaign
Under the agreement, Dickens & Madson committed to crafting and distributing information aligned with Matiang’i’s political goals. The firm also agreed to assist in shaping public perception and preparing materials to advance his presidential bid.
The consultancy deal is set to last one year but may be extended through mutual agreement. With this high-level backing, Matiang’i is poised to compete aggressively on both local and international stages.
